Nina’s research in electrophysiology focuses on ion channels, crucial for cellular signaling. She specializes in voltage-gated ion channels, exploring their modifications to understand diseases like epilepsy and cardiac arrhythmias. Ion channel modification is vital for drug development, both as direct targets and off-targets to predict cardiotoxic effects. She uses automated patch-clamp techniques to assist researchers in electrophysiology and other fields, including forensics.
