Mathias Uhlén leads new protein center

A new center for protein research, Wallenberg Centre for Protein Research (WCPR), will be established at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in the beginning of 2016. The center will be led by former Director and current faculty of SciLifeLab, Mathias Uhlén. The research at WCPR will focus on human proteins and development and production of biopharmaceuticals in collaboration with pharmaceutical companies.

WCPR is largely financed by Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation with 320 Million SEK during eight years. Other funders are Astra Zeneca and the collaborating universities: KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Uppsala University and Chalmers. In total 510 Million SEK is invested.
