Legal aspects of SARS-CoV-2 genome data processing and sharing across Europe
March 30 @ 10:00 – 12:00 CEST
Location: Online via Zoom
This online workshop will showcase how to address the legal aspects of mobilising SARS-CoV-2 genome data across Europe and is specifically designed to cater to organisations acting as regional or national coordinators tasked with brokering data across healthcare systems, research infrastructures and publicly accessible data sharing platforms. It is organised by ELIXIR CONVERGE WP9 in collaboration with SciLifeLab and includes speakers on GDPR and local legislation as well as presentations of solutions adopted and developed by project members.
Participants should be aware that the workshop will not provide legal advice. The workshop will provide participants with examples of legal contexts for data processing and contracts between organisations within a selection of national legal frameworks. The workshop also aims to illustrate how legal aspects come into play when genetic, personal and phenotypic patient information is processed, masked and shared across data producers, data brokers and data sharing platforms.
Before the workshop, participants will be encouraged to answer a short survey related to the workshop’s content.
Registration is required to receive the Zoom link.
